is a smooth gel injectable filler comprised of
hyaluronic acid which may be used for the correction
of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
JUVÉDERM Injectable Gel may be used to treat
deep folds, lines and wrinkles of the face as well
as acne scars and other facial imperfections. This
filler can also be used to augment the lips and
contour facial features like the chin and cheeks.
JUVÉDERM Injectable Gel not only contains the
highest concentration of hyaluronic acid, it is also
formulated as a smooth gel which allows for a more
natural, smoother result. Pre-testing is not
necessary because JUVÉDERM Injectable Gel is
biocompatible and of non-animal origin.
Juvederm is a non-animal based injectable
filler made in the laboratory. Hyaluronic acid, a
material that is in the joints and bodies of all
living things, is a complex sugar that maintains its
three dimensional shape in the body by attracting
and holding large numbers of water molecules. Among
its many natural functions, hyaluronic acid
maintains the volume of the skin, keeps skin
hydrated and maintains the shape of the eye. As we
age, we lose hyaluronic acid from the skin and it
loses its volume and structure. Injecting
Juvederm into skin folds and wrinkles replaces
that structure and volume. In many ways, Juvederm
resembles Restylane, but it has a higher
concentration and more cross-linked hyaluronic acid
than an equal volume of Restylane
JUVEDERM Injectable Gel may be good option
for individuals who are looking to improve facial
wrinkles or imperfections or enhance the appearance
of the lips. There are three concentrations
available which can treat anything from fine
wrinkles like crow’s feet to deeper folds like
naso-genian folds. Discomfort is typically minimal,
though your comfort can be optimized by using a
topical anesthetic. Depending on the size and number
of treatment areas, the procedure may take anywhere
from five to thirty minutes to complete. This
